King Locks Christmas and Sets Up the Decade's Biggest December

Red Chillies Entertainment has locked 24 December for King, the Siddharth Anand-directed action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan in her theatrical debut.

The date completes a December the trade is already calling the strongest of the decade. With two other large Hindi titles positioned earlier in the month, exhibitors are looking at three consecutive high-occupancy weekends into the new year.

For Red Chillies the Christmas window carries history: it is the corridor that delivered some of the studio's largest openings. The reported budget for King sits near 350 crore.
