Suhana Khan makes her theatrical debut in King on 24 December, sharing the screen with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan in a Siddharth Anand action thriller from Red Chillies Entertainment.
No debut in recent memory has arrived with this level of attention or this much scrutiny. The Christmas window is the most valuable date on the Hindi calendar, and Red Chillies has used it for its biggest swings.
The strategic decision worth noting is that she is not being launched in a small film to build slowly. She is being placed directly into a tentpole, which is a statement of confidence and a considerable risk at the same time.
